Letter to the Governors of All 50 States

We The People

Dear Governor,

My name is William Thomas Harney. I am writing to you as the Vice Presidential Running Mate of Erin Kent Magee. I am using this medium to provide links to further information about us, which should give you a better idea of who we are and where we stand on the major issues facing our country.

Erin is a Veteran with 10 years of prior Federal Service. He has worked for the Department of Defense and Department of the Treasury. Like me, he was born and raised in the USA.

On April 5th, he filed his Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission as the 1st Republican Presidential Candidate from the State of Florida. (Please see: )

What does it mean to be a Republican? In the final words of his Gettysburg Address, Abraham Lincoln, our first Republican President, said the Civil War was fought to ensure that government by the people, for the people, of the people shall not perish from the earth.

The Preamble to our Constitution begins with the words We the People, and We the People are the cornerstone of our democracy – a democracy Republicans have long sought to defend, preserve and protect.

Today, we are engaged in a new Civil War; not a war between North and South, but a war between We the People and the corporations that seek to replace a system of government that is by the many with one that is by the few.

These corporations have taken control of our major political parties, and even some of our minor parties. They have bought out every TV news network. Their goal is to let their candidates run, unopposed. They believe they can reach their goal by blocking the message of every challenger; and they have done more than a little to block our message.

In Florida’s first Primary, Tea Party activists bribed officials, convincing them to remove the names of all Republican challengers from the Florida ballot. Adding insult to injury, they arranged to have the names of those who’d already withdrawn from the race -- Herman Cain and Michele Bachman – remain on the ballot! In all 50 states, the primary qualification for a Presidential candidate -- assuming the citizenship and age requirements are met -- is willingness to serve, if elected. The above-mentioned candidates had withdrawn from the race before the Primary took place, giving public notice of the fact that they were unwilling to serve. In this respect it was, in fact, a fraudulent Primary.

Before I became Erin’s running mate I, too, was running for President. To get my name on Florida’s ballot, I had to obtain 112,000 signed petitions. All told, I obtained over 400,000 petitions, which were lost, without explanation. Erin and I want to defeat the self-seekers whose only goal is to enrich themselves on the bribes of special interest groups. We seek nothing more than a chance to serve We the People of this great nation.

With a GDP valued at 14.7 trillion dollars, we are still the world’s leading economy. If measured in terms of private wealth, we are still the leader, with 412 billionaires. Through private investment, there is nothing we can’t do! There is no reason why we can’t have jobs and affordable health care. There is no reason why our Social Security should be at risk. As Erin has said, “There is no reason, other than the lies and deceit of those who would lead our country even further down the wrong path”.

As President and Vice President, Erin and I will support legislation designed to create tax incentives for private investment in the industries that will generate millions of new jobs for this generation and generations to come; industries such as high speed rail, renewable energy and a reformed health care system that meets the needs of those who suffer from chronic disease.

We'll support legislation designed to create a National Health Insurance plan that is optional, income-based and covers at least 75% of the cost of dental care.

We do not, and will not, support legislation that would create a health care system that rations care, creates death panels and requires forced participation.

We'll support legislation aimed at securing our borders, stopping the flow of illegal immigrants into our country and providing a path to citizenship for the parents of children who are citizens by birth.

We do not, and will not, support legislation that grants blanket amnesty to any group of illegal aliens on the basis of age, or any other factor.

We acknowledge the right of all Americans to the benefits they have earned over the course of their working lives.

We do not, and will not, support legislation that would do away with the IRS and end its role as the agency that pays into our Social Security Trust Fund.

We will balance the budget by ending the trade deficit and by offering tax incentives for private investment, which will create more taxable income.

We will not support legislation that would greatly increase the tax burden of any American, regardless of income level. (Please see Erin's article at:

Through their corporate lobbies, the Tea Party is conspiring to dismantle our government. They want to do away with the IRS and, thus, do away with their obligation to restore the funds they "borrowed" from our Social Security fund.

Please help us drive them out of Washington! You can help by making sure Erin’s full name – Erin Kent Magee -- appears on the ballot of your state for the General Election of November 6th, 2012. As Governor, this is your prerogative, and we hope you’ll see it as your duty to help ensure We the People are finally represented.

The Tea Party will, of course, insist the nominees are the most likely to win, but they can’t win without the support of the 80%, voters much like you and I. Why not let the People decide? We believe they'll decide in our favor. Don’t let the Tea Party’s favorite run unopposed and win by default.

Please, help us take our country back by letting voters know Erin is a real alternative to the self-seeking nominees who do not have their best interest at heart. You can do this by placing his name on the ballot for the General Election of November 6th. Erin is more than willing to serve, and I'm more than willing to serve as his Vice President. Together, we'll bring back the 3 things our government has been without for the last three and a half years -- God, Hope and Common Sense.

For God and Country,

William Thomas Harney, PhD
